The reason they refuse to make the distinction is because they believe that every time we have a warm day, scientists point to global warming. While there may indeed be some ignorant people who honestly believe their neighbor’s F250 is directly responsible for today’s warmer than average temperature, such feelings do not represent the educated proponents of AGW.

Perhaps the better question is, can any skeptic find a single example of a scientist saying “It’s hot today…this hot day was caused by global warming” ?

Global warming has always and will always describe long term trends. If it’s cold OR hot today, that is weather. If it’s cold or hot all week, that is still weather. However, if the frequency of hotter-than-average days increases over a 150 year period, that is a change in climate.

I challenge all of the skeptics out there to give me a single example of an AGW scientist claiming anything different…
